Kick Off Parent Meeting: Tuesday, June 21, 6:30pm @ GRYC (just after the boats are on the water for races)
PLEASE PLAN TO ATTEND IF YOUR CHILD IS ON RACE TEAM.
Race Team Members must:
Show proficiency as a skipper through Level 3 Instruction on any boat.
Be capable of navigating a race course independently as a skipper from starting sequence to finish line and have participated in GRYC sponsored fleet races for at least one year. (Crew may be aboard)
Have parents who are available for regatta duties (boat pack up, chaperone, driving, food….)
Be a member of the GRYC.
Weekly Practice on Wednesday afternoons 2:30-5:00pm from June 22-August 10th
Parent Regatta Meetings and Travel Plans during Fleet Races the Tuesday Prior to the regatta, 6:00pm. This is when we make sure we can efficiently transport kids and boats to the events. We make sure we have enough parent drivers, chaperones, maps, food, etc…
Team Fee $200.00 per child – Due by June 13th Payable to GRJSA
Boat Use for Travel Regattas
$0.00 if using your own boat
$50.00 per travel regatta to use a GRJSA boat (please indicate below) OR
$250 to use a GRJSA boat for all 6 travel regattas
A “Boat Usage” agreement will be filed for each regatta, signed by both sailor and parents.
GRJSA boats are used for instruction through Thursday at 8:45pm. Club boats can be packed up and loaded on trailers after the adult classes wrap up. Parents of sailors MUST load their own child’s boat.
Club races do not require a boat use fee
Please note that it is the decision of the Race Coaches to assign the boat that best fits the sailor. Sailors cannot take any boat they want.
Crew will not be assigned. It is up to the Butterfly skippers to choose a crew to suit wind and weather conditions. Crew need not be a member of our team, but it is encouraged.
Gear Checklist will be provided for each sailor for every regatta – checked before departure and upon return.
